Multimedia News Management in Sri Lanka
A two-day workshop on multimedia news management brought together TV, radio, print and online journalists at the American Center in Colombo. Funded by the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, Terry's coaching also included station visits to TNL Radio, state-owned ITN/Prime Radio, independent MTV/Yes Radio and Lifeline, a radio program for people who were displaced in the recent civil war.
Terry Anchors MTV Newsfirst in Sri Lanka
As part of a station visit to MTV Newsfirst in Colombo, Terry made a guest appearance as co-anchor of the 9 p.m. bulletin in English. Anchorman Shameer Rasooldeen helped Terry navigate some tricky pronunciation. It was a pleasure to work with this thoroughly professional team.
Strengthening Civil Society in Maldives
As a Fulbright specialist, Terry taught multimedia public relations to communications officers from most of the government ministries and public-private businesses in Maldives, sponsored by the president's press office. She also provided station talent coaching to several media outlets including TV Maldives, DhiTV and DhiFM. She also met with the first class of journalism diploma students at the College of Higher Education.
Terry Speaks to Stanford Professional Women
Terry will discuss the value of multimedia storytelling in your business and personal life at the May 6 meeting of the Stanford Professional Women in Pasadena, CA. She'll illustrate her point with examples from her consulting project in the Maldives, where storytelling empowered voters and young reporters to participate in their country's first multi-party democratic presidential election.
The Role of the Multimedia Storyteller in High School Journalism
Daily Dish blogger Jessica Gelt of the Los Angeles Times and online producer Owen Michael of KABC-TV joined Terry March 12 for a presentation at the University of Southern California's High School Journalism Day at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. They discussed the importance of student journalists developing their skills in multiple media platforms.
