I’m proud to be quoted in this article on ozy.com for two reasons: the amazing Najia Ashar and the Knight Fellowship program at Stanford. I met Najia on my most recent teaching trip to Pakistan and during my days at Stanford University I boarded in the home of Harry Press, the former managing director of the fellowship program. As a student, I was so inspired by the accomplished journalists I would meet in Harry’s home. Here’s wishing Najia much success in her efforts to keep Pakistan’s journalists safe.
